About DramaDex
DramaDex is an independent, cross-platform index of Chinese TV dramas (C-dramas) and vertical short dramas: where to watch each title legally, episode counts, source novels, cast, and what's new this week.
Chinese dramas are now everywhere — Netflix, Viki, iQIYI, WeTV, YouTube — and vertical short dramas have become a multi-billion-dollar export with their own apps (ReelShort, DramaBox, NetShort, ShortMax). What does not exist is one place that indexes all of it, tells you which app has which title, and links the English remakes back to the Chinese tropes and novels they came from. That is what we are building.
How we work
- Facts (titles, years, episode counts, cast, broadcasters) come from Wikidata, released under CC0, plus our own checks.
- Editorial notes are written by us, in English, by people who read the original Chinese sources.
- Watch links go to official platforms only. Where we have confirmed a direct link, the button says “Open”; otherwise it opens that platform’s search so you always see the live listing for your country.
- Short-drama entries marked “community-sourced” have not yet been verified in-app. We are working through them.
- Some links are affiliate links. They never change which titles we list or what we say about them.
